Plant Care Guidelines

Light:
Grow crotons in bright light to maintain the brilliant leaf colors. If new leaves are green, move the plants gradually to a brighter spot.

Soil:
Crotons can be grown in any of the standard soil mixes for houseplants. For more information about soil mixes, see
Planting in Containers.

Fertilizer:
Feed once a month with a liquid or soluble plant food.

Water:
How much: Add enough water so that some drains out of the bottom of the pot. Empty the saucer when the water has finished draining.

How often: Water when the top inch of soil is barely moist. For additional information on watering houseplants, see Watering Container Plants.

Temperature:
Average house temperatures of 68° to 70°F are adequate.
